VAIL — All the way from the hills of North Carolina, Vail Bluegrass welcomes the two-time Grammy Award winners, the Steep Canyon Rangers, who take the Vail stage Wednesday.
Opening duties will be provided by Hardscrabble of Vail. The Vail Summer Bluegrass Series is scheduled to take place at the Arrabelle at Vail Square at 6 p.m., rain or shine.
The Steep Canyon Rangers are currently on tour in support of their new album, “Radio.” Due on Aug. 28, “‘Radio’ travels the dial from top to bottom,” said banjo player Graham Sharp.“The album tunes into the rock channel for a little while, then the blues, then country, pop and, of course, bluegrass.”
Those looking to extend their evenings can head over to Shakedown Bar for the official after-party featuring Chris Henry & The Hardcore Grass. The Vail Summer Bluegrass Series concludes on Aug. 12 with Grant Farm and the Dead Winter Carpenters.
