Steve Leitzsey, 1960-2016
Steve Leitzsey passed away on Thursday, Sept. 15, in Grand Junction. He was born April 29, 1960, the son of Hugh Leitzsey and Lucy McCain of Columbia, South Carolina.
He earned an undergraduate and a master’s degree in art education from the University of South Carolina and was employed as a substitute teacher by the Delta County School District.
He is predeceased by his father, Hugh Leitzsey.
He is survived by his mother, Lucy McCain, and her husband, Spruce McCain; his sister, Lynn Godman, and her husband, Steve Long; and his nephews, Wade and Tyler Godman.
Thank you to his girlfriend, Mona Jenkins, his friends who live in Delta and his faithful feline companion Cat for their friendship and care for Steve.
Memorial contributions in Steve’s name may be sent to the Humane Society of Colorado.
