Eagle County, CO Colorado

EAGLE COUNTY ” Former Eagle County, Colorado Commissioner Tom Stone won’t be Colorado’s next Republican Party Chairman.

The Gypsum resident was defeated 310 – 50 on Saturday by incumbent Dick Wadhams at the Republican Central Committee meeting in Castle Rock. The committee consists of chairmen, vice chairmen and secretaries from Colorado’s 64 counties.

The party hasn’t had a contended race for several years.

“It was a spirited race and I’m really pleased with the outcome,” Wadhams, of Littleton, said.

Stone decided last month to run against Wadhams, saying that the party needed a choice and he would be able to bring change to the state GOP. His focus was to regain public confidence and start winning seats back in the state.
