Daily Staff Report

EAGLE COUNTY, Colorado ” Stratton Flats had its first closing on a single family home deed-restricted home Wednesday.

Greg and Amber Barrett are the affordable housing development’s first official homeowners and are moving from a townhome in Miller Ranch.

The first homes started popping up at the Gypsum affordable housing development in October and a bunch are now ready to be moved into.

“We’re really excited,” said Andy Forstl, sales manager for Stratton Flats.

The development is a partnership between the town of Gypsum, Meritage Development and Eagle County, which invested $4.5 million in the project. The finished product will be a mix of 339 deed-restricted and free market condos, townhomes and single-family homes.

Forstl said the development’s second closing should happen in the next few days.
