Streetscape work done for summer

VAIL Construction on Vails streets is over until Labor Day, though private projects will continue.Town buses have returned to their normal routes.Over the past nine weeks, crews have installed snowmelt lines and cobblestones on East Meadow Drive, on the south side of the Vail parking garage. They also prepared Willow Bridge Road north of the International Bridge for work that will be completed in the fall.The Eagle River Water & Sanitation District replaced the most of the water main beneath West Meadow Drive between Vail Road and Vail Valley Medical Center. Vail Resorts installed snowmelt lines and cobblestones near the Arrabelle at Vail Square project in Lionshead.Work will resume on Sept. 4 and continue through November. The water district will continue upgrading lines west of the hospital and begin work near the Vail Chapel.Snowmelt lines and other utility work will be one in Lionshead.Streetscape work is timed by the town of Vail to coincide with private construction.
