Studio Anjali at The Westin in Avon offering 3 new yoga classes in July

AVON — Studio Anjali at The Westin is offering three adventurous new classes this July that are designed to encourage everyone to be active and try something new.

HANDSTAND PLAYSHOP



Studio Anjali’s Handstand Playshop is an empowering new class anchored in building ownership in handstands. Regardless of your ability, Suzanne Oliver will help you build your confidence. Through instruction, you will learn how to kick up, dial in and playfully find creative variations of handstands.

The class is from 4 to 6 p.m. on Sunday. The cost is $45 for the public or $35 for Athletic Club at The Westin members.

BEGINNING BARRE WORKSHOP

Learn what you need to know to get the full benefits from yoga with a Beginning Barre Workshop. Taught by Elizabeth Sullivan, this class covers the basics, including alignment and terms. It is ideal for both beginning students and those simply looking to refine their technique.

This class is from 6:30 to 8 p.m. July 16. The cost is $40 for the public or $30 for members.



YOGA BEAT

Get your groove on with the Yoga Beat class. Taught by Tara Goike, this two-hour flow and restore class features DJ Kirby K mixing a downtempo blend of electronic beats. This practice allows you to glide through a vinyasa flow to end with a relaxing restorative practice. Get your groove on with this challenging class that ends in a rested, meditative state of bliss.

This class is July 27 from 5 to 7 p.m. The cost is $20 before July 22, when it goes up to $30.
