On Oct. 24, you will have an opportunity to learn more about yoga’s roots of through an all-day workshop at Synergy Wellness in Avon on the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali with guest teacher Michael Lloyd-Billington.

The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali has long been considered the single greatest expression of yoga philosophy. This special, day-long workshop will explore the fundamentals of the Sutras, including the basic goals and techniques of yoga. “Studying the yoga sutras have given me a concrete background for positively dealing with the situations that arise in my daily life,” said Mike Gehard, local yoga teacher and student of Lloyd-Billington’s. “Michael’s approach to teaching the Sutras is so down to earth and filled with examples from his life that he makes it easy for anyone to turn around and apply them to their life.”

In addition to a discussion of historical background and philosophy, the workshop will include two practice sessions with an emphasis on integrating the teachings into practice.

Lloyd-Billington has been a teacher of meditation and Eastern philosophy for more than 25 years.
