Summer promotions begin in New York
NEW YORK CITY – More than 60 journalists, representing the New York Times, Elite Traveler, Wine Spectator, Travel & Leisure and Food & Wine, among other media outlets, attended two separate summer promotions last month hosted by Vail and Beaver Creek in New York City.Peeples Ink PR, Ltd., a Vail-based public relations firm, collaborated with the New York Philharmonic to organize the press luncheon at Café Gray, Jan. 13 The orchestra will perform in Vail from July 22 to July 29, its third visit to the valley. “We are very pleased to be able to continue our partnership with the Bravo! Vail Valley Music Festival,” said Zarin Mehta, president and executive director for the New York Philharmonic. “It is a great pleasure for us to perform in one of the most beautiful locations in the country, and to finish our season in the Vail Valley.”
During the evening, Peeples Ink and representatives from Vail and Beaver Creek gathered at The Spice Market to discuss with journalists a variety of summer activities.”We really sought to strike a chord among new faces representing top New York-based publications,” said John Buckley of Peeples Ink.Among the local groups represented in New York were the Vail Local Marketing District, the Vail Valley Chamber and Tourism Bureau, Beaver Creek Resort and Bravo!. “With the New York Philharmonic highlighting a very strong cultural offering this summer, we feel we are on pace with our branding efforts to position Vail as the ideal headquarters for an upscale Rocky Mountain summer vacation experience,” said Kelli McDonald, vice president of marketing for the Vail Valley Chamber and Tourism Bureau.
