There were no serious injuries in the incident about 3 miles east of Silverthorne, and the truck remained intact ” no fuel leaked ” after smashing through about 200 feet of guardrail.

The driver of the Estes Trucking Lines truck is under investigation for driving under the influence of alcohol, Burt said.

The incident occurred at about 4 a.m., and the highway was closed to eastbound traffic for about 20 minutes ” until 10:10 a.m. The truck landed on its driver’s side near mile marker 207.

Burt said a “steep little hillside” separates the lanes in the area of the accident, and another truck stopped after running over debris left in the highway.
