Sunday brunch toasts the Taste of Vail
VAIL – Ludwig’s will host a Bubble Breakfast on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The brainchild of Sommelier Jamie Garrett, the breakfast will combine 12 unique and highly regarded champagnes and sparkling wines with Ludwig’s breakfast buffet. Many of the selections are difficult to find and pricey to indulge, but Garrett has partnered with top suppliers in town for the Taste of Vail to bring these gems to the Sonnenalp. Featured selections include Henriot, Krug, Veuve Clicquot and Ruinart. The majority of champagnes and sparkling wines are rated at over 90 points by top industry critiques. The setting is Ludwig’s expansive, glass-enclosed terrace festooned with decorative ice sculptures to display and chill the champagne. Guests purchase a personal “Champagne Passport” complete with informative passages and ratings for each champagne. Passports are then stamped as each selection is “visited” with a 2-ounce pour of each bottle on the tour. “The Champagne Passport provides an excellent opportunity to fine tune your tasting skills, enjoy the best of the best and a leisurely breakfast on Ludwig’s sunlit terrace,” Garrett said. Breakfast and a Passport can be purchased for $58 per person or the passport alone is available for $34 -less than the cost of one glass for many of these fine champagnes. A limited number of Champagne Passports are available. For details or to reserve a Passport, contact the Sonnenalp Concierge at 970-479-5429.
