Glenwood Springs CO, Colorado

GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colorado ” Sunlight Mountain Resort will not open this Friday, Dec. 5 due to a lack of snow and continued warm temperatures that have prevented artificial snowmaking.

Sunlight made the announcement this morning and reported that the top of the mountain has a 14-inch base and the base area has about six inches of snow.

Sunlight is now targeting Friday, Dec. 12 for its new Opening Day. The resort will make an official opening day announcement on Wednesday, Dec. 10.

Free lift tickets issued for December 5, 6 or 7 that locals received or will receive as an incentive to see the Warren Miller Film or the Teton Gravity Research film Under the Influence on December 4 at 7:30 p.m. in the Hotel Colorado will be valid for the first three ski days of the season when those dates are announced.
