Suza Baja Grill celebrates grand opening in Vail Valley

Vail Daily staff report
Vail, CO Colorado

VAIL VALLEY, Colorado – The Suza Baja Grill in Edwards in Colorado’s Vail Valley will donate 50 percent of their sales to The Heuga Center for Multiple Sclerosis (MS) as part of their grand opening celebration on Friday, from 4 to 10 p.m. Stop by to enjoy food and drink specials, free samples and help local families living with MS.

Suza Baja Grill’s fresh food and culture is inspired by the surf shops and taco shacks of the Baja Peninsula. The menu reflects a healthy interpretation of surfside cuisine – fish tacos, salads, fun apps and hand-crafted margaritas – all served in a fun, laid-back atmosphere.

“The owners of Suza Baja Grill are Vail Valley locals and dedicated to contributing to our community” said Brian White, one of the principals of Suza Baja Grill. “We are excited to celebrate our opening by partnering with The Heuga Center for MS, which has been an outstanding local nonprofit for over 25 years.”

“It’s great when a new business is so dedicated to helping the community,” said The Heuga Center’s CEO Kim Sharkey. “The donation from Suza directly impacts our ability to provide scholarships for people with MS and their support partner to attend our CAN DO program. And it has a local impact. We had 11 local couples attend our most recent CAN DO programs.”

The Heuga Center’s CAN DO program takes a whole-person approach to managing MS. Participants and support partners become fully involved in creating a personal lifestyle program based on specific needs and goals. The program empowers people to focus on what they can do by emphasizing general health, physical fitness and self-efficacy. It teaches individualized lifestyle strategies that include exercise, nutrition, self-management, social interaction and support. The extensive component for support partners addresses their individual needs and concerns and further educates them about MS. The Center’s next five-day CAN DO program takes place in Vail Oct. 14-18.
