SW Colorado wildfire 70 percent contained
ENUCLA, Colorado – Fire officials say a lightning-sparked fire that has burned about 1.5 square miles in southwest Colorado is 70 percent contained.
Fire information officer Erin Curtis says some of the crews were being sent home Thursday afternoon after getting a handle of the blaze about 340 southwest of Denver near the town of Nucla. Curtis says two engine crews, a hand crew, and a helicopter are continuing to work the fire which at one point threatened three cabins and an outhouse.
The fire began Saturday.
