Sweatshirt doesn’t hide beer in Avon

AVON, Colorado ” Avon, Colorado police had to ship a man to Glenwood Springs’ detox facility and charge him for larceny on March 27 when he showed up to City Market and tried to swipe some beer, the police report said.

An employee at the supermarket said he saw the man take an 18-pack of Budweiser from the store’s refrigerator and then try and hide it under his sweatshirt. Then he walked out of the store with no clear indication that he was going to pay for the beer, the employee told police.

The 26-year-old man was taken to jail by police, where he had a .227 blood alcohol content, then was taken by Last Call to the detox facility in Glenwood Springs.
