Switching to TV for Beaver Creek’s Birds of Prey

Wow, you get an F for race-day preparation and need-to-know information. In the nearly 20 years that I have lived here and seen just about every race to come through the Vail Valley, I have never seen or experienced a ski race you could not ski to. That’s right, absolutely no skier access in or out of the race base area.

The next time that happens, let us know ahead of time. It would be better in every capacity to watch it on TV. With the cost of a lift ticket at full price (let’s see, in corporate mentality, that would be legitimate considering 25 percent of the mountain is open), I am sorry to say to the visiting skiers who wanted to experience a great ski day with a World Cup race as a bonus, you got hosed. I’ll be watching the race on the local channels for the rest of the weekend.
