Take golf lessons indoors in Vail

Daily staff report
Vail, CO Colorado

VAIL, Colorado ” Golfers are now able to prepare for the upcoming golf season at the Vail Golf Club by booking a lesson and utilizing the club’s golf swing analysis program.

The swing analysis program utilizes multiple cameras, plus sound and light to capture a golfer’s swing in real-time and slow motion, and then records it digitally.

Swing analysis offers golfers an opportunity to study their swing plane, setup, motion and impact position, said Vail Golf Club Head Professional Jeanne Sutherland. It also affords the opportunity to compare with proven professionals, as well as track progress against their own past swing mechanics and even e-mail the video to friends.

Sutherland says taking a lesson and using the swing analysis program is a great tool to use to perfect golf techniques during not only the winter months, but year-round.

“We’re excited to offer this product as a great way to prepare for the upcoming golf season,” Sutherland said. “It’s also a perfect opportunity for skiers and riders to enjoy a day on the mountain and then come join us for some golf. It’s the best of both worlds.”

Swing analysis lessons are available by appointment only from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Lessons cost $35 per 30 minute session or three for $100 and can be booked by calling Sutherland at-479-2260, extension 4.

The Vail Golf Club, which is operated by the Vail Recreation District, is scheduled to open mid-May for the 2009 season and is nestled at the base of the Gore Mountain Range.
