Talons Challenge is Jan. 24 at Beaver Creek

BEAVER CREEK, Colorado ” Do you have what it takes to tackle more than 23,000 vertical feet in one day at this year’s Beaver Creek Talons Challenge? On Saturday, Jan. 24, skiers and snowboarders are invited to attempt to conquer 13 of the resort’s most challenging black and double-black diamond runs including the legendary World Cup Birds of Prey Downhill course, Larkspur Bowl and Grouse Mountain. The Challenge takes place on the bumps and steeps.
This annual event features the famous an apres party at Red Tail Camp, aid stations offering snacks and drinks and prize giveaways. Every person who registers for the event will receive a beer or soda and a brat. Those who complete the Talons Challenge earn a spot on the Talons Wall of Fame at Red Tail Camp as well as a collector’s hat and pin. Howard Head Sports Medicine will provide free massages.
New this year, the Talons Challenge is limited to the first 1,500 people who register. Skiers and snowboarders can register early online until Wednesday, Jan. 21 at midnight for $10, or until the event fills up. If there are still spots available, there will be day-of registration for $15. A portion of the proceeds from event registration will benefit SOS Outreach.
