VAIL ” Back by popular demand, the Vail International Dance Festival presents “Ballroom’s Best: the Beat Goes On” on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at the Gerald Ford Amphitheater in Vail.

Ballroom superstars Hanna Karttunen and Victor da Silva once again bring the thrilling world of professional ballroom dancing to Vail in a show exclusively crafted for the International Dance Festival. These world open exhibition champions have assembled a dream-team of fellow champions from all facets of the ballroom world, presenting a one-of-a-kind spectacle of virtuosity and passion.

Hanna Karttunen and Victor da Silva first danced together in June 2004 on the BBC “Strictly Come Dancing” television series, which was the model for the American sensation, “Dancing with the Stars.” Since then, a charismatic partnership has developed between the two dancers, merging two strong forms of dance-Latin American and Dance Exhibition-and creating a dynamic synergy that has caused quite a stir in the world of ballroom. Since 2004, they have been touring and performing throughout the world. In 2007, they defended both their World Open Exhibition and British Open titles to remain firmly at the top of their field for another year.

Other featured couples of the evening include 2005 World 10-dance Champions Iveta Lukosiute and Gherman Mushtuk; Latin dancers Valeria Bushueva and Andrei Bouchtchik; U.S. and World finalists Eulia Baranovsky and Steven Doughery; two-time World Showdance Finalist Julia Gorchakova and Professional Mambo Champion Emmanuel Pierre-Antoine.

Popular music will complement the fiery moves on stage as couples will showcase their talents to the sounds of ACDC, Santana, Nelly Furtado, Tina Turner and “American Idol” winner Kelly Clarkson, along with soundtrack selections from “Speed,” “Victor Victoria,” “Eyes Wide Shut,” “Last Samurai” and “Hello Dolly.”
