Taste of Eagle Ranch

Cindy Ramunno

Last summer, Eagle Ranch hosted its first ever home tour, with proceeds benefiting Brush Creek Elementary this school year and the Youth Foundation. The Taste of Eagle Ranch and Home Tour showcased 14 homes, giving attendees a delightful peek new design ideas and architectural concepts.Colorado Mountain Express vans shuttled visitors from door to door throughout the ranch, yet some walked through the tour – enjoying the part of the very short summer. The homes in Eagle Ranch – which has a unique, small-town western character – featured the classic-yet-contemporary design elements that mirror Victorian and Craftsman styles. The homes offered distinctive surprises, including a sun-filled conservatory, an “endless” indoor pool, custom art class windows and a variety of cozy guest or rental apartments.”I thought this was an awesome event and I got a lot of great ideas from the experience,” Eagle resident Debby Beard said. “Everyone was very welcoming and generous about allowing strangers into their homes.”Ideas abounded as attendees checked out the latest floor plans, wall and floor coverings, appliances and cutting-edge kitchen and bath trends.Laurie Thompson, spokeswoman for Eagle Ranch, said the home tour will hopefully become an annual event, with the expectation that it will grow each year.”People really enjoyed themselves and we’d like to do it again next year,” Thompson said. The event was sponsored by Eagle Ranch, Village Homes, R.A. Nelson, Wright and Co., Slifer Smith & Frampton Real Estate, the Vail Daily and other local firms. For more information on educational programs offered through Eagle Ranch, call Laurie Thompson at 328-2168.
