AVON — Kerin Auth, national sales manager of Spanish importer Peninsula Wines, visits vin48 in Avon as part of its Summer Tasting Series tonight at 5 p.m. Peninsula is the exclusive U.S. importer of a limited collection of wines made from single-vineyard, unknown varieties from up-and-coming wine regions throughout the Iberian Peninsula.

Auth is the former owner of New York City’s Tinto Fino, Vinos de Espana. She recently completed her 30th trip to Spain. She is honored to work with this very impressive, niche collection made by esoteric winemakers from rare varieties. The wines are often bio-dynamically grown and/or from single vineyards.

Charles Hays, vin48’s chef and owner, will pair the wines with appetizers on the restaurant’s patio. The event is part of vin48’s Summer Tasting Series, which takes place every Wednesday and features winemakers/importers from the world’s best wine growing region. The wines are paired with Hays’ cuisine. The event is $25, which includes wine tasting and appetizers. All wines served are available at discounted prices from series partner Beaver Liquors in Avon.
