Taste Rocky Mountain vodka in Vail
Vail, CO Colorado
VAIL, Colorado – You can taste Vodka 14, which distilled in the Rocky Mountains from organic grain, on Sunday from noon to 3:30 p.m. at the Marketplace on Meadow Drive Wine Shop in Vail, Colorado.
Vodka 14 is distilled and bottled at the foot of the majestic Teton Mountain Range by Altitude Spirits, an independent spirits company based in Boulder, and run by the father-and-son team of Mitch and Matthew Baris. The Barises have revived an Eastern European tradition of vodka distillation running back five generations in their family.
“This product of Colorado is mostly distributed in state, which presents our out-of-state visitors a unique opportunity to taste the Rockies in a whole new way,” said Kristen Fannin, sommelier for the Wine Shop at Marketplace on Meadow Drive.
Mitch Baris will be on hand to sample his product, including a Vodka 14 house infusion drink, and answer questions.
“I’m looking forward to bringing some tastes of summer to Vail this weekend,” said Baris. “We will be sampling a lemon/ginger and a rosemary/strawberry infused vodka drink.”
The tasting will occur during Vail’s popular Meadow Drive Farmers’ Market, which has hundreds of vendors.
The tasting event is free and reservations are not required. Parking is at the Vail Transportation Center, where the parking also is free. Marketplace on Meadow Drive is located in Vail Village, at the corner of Meadow Drive and Willow Bridge Road, just west of the International Bridge. From the Transportation Center, head west on Meadow Drive. For more information, call 970-477-4370.
