VAIL – Bringing together some of the best Vail Valley chefs and award-winning wines from B.R. Cohn Winery, WestStar Bank presents a Colorado Evening at Falling Creek at Arrowhead on Saturday, Aug. 19, from 610 p.m. Proceeds from the event will benefit the orthopaedic research and educational programs of the Steadman Hawkins Research Foundation. The Colorado Evening will pair an assortment of B. R. Cohn wines with cuisine from valley restaurants including Falling Creek, Grouse Mountain Grille, La Tour, Larkspur, Splendido at The Chateau, Terra Bistro and Wildflower.Accompanying the cuisine are wines from the B. R. Cohn Winery in the Sonoma Valley. At this small family operated winery, soil warmed by underground natural hot springs and gentle ocean breezes create a unique microclimate perfect for growing Cabernet Sauvignon. B.R. Cohn also produces chardonnay from the Carneros Region, merlot and syrcab from Sonoma Valley. As a special addition to this event, B.R. Cohn is presenting the 2003 Olive Hill Estate Cabernet Sauvignon as a special release. Guests of the Colorado Evening will be able to taste this wine before it is available to the general public in September. Guests at the charitable event will also have an opportunity to bid on a variety of products and experiences at a live and silent auction. Offerings include a trip to Bhutan, a bike trip through South Africa, one year of Chris Carmichael training, Volkl skis and more.The Steadman Hawkins Research Foundation is dedicated to keeping people of all ages physically active through orthopedic research and education in the areas of arthritis, tissue healing, rehabilitation and injury prevention.
