Teen gets 20 years in Greeley robberies
GREELEY, Colorado ” A 17-year-old boy who held up two gas stations and two convenience stores in Greeley has been sentenced to 20 years in prison.
Julian Gonzales was sentenced in Weld County District Court after pleading guilty to aggravated robbery, a felony. District Attorney Ken Buck charged him as an adult.
Two other teens, 18-year-old Christopher Hale and 17-year-old Fabian Flores, also were charged in the heists and pleaded guilty to attempted aggravated robbery. Hale was sentenced to eight years and Flores six.
Authorities say the robberies started June 16, when the three held up a convenience store employee at knifepoint. The next night, they robbed two gas stations.
On June 20, the teens held up another convenience store armed with a shotgun, a handgun and a knife.
