Teen Night returns to Avon Rec

Daily staff report
Avon CO, Colorado

AVON, Colorado “-The Town of Avon hosted its first Teen Night in January, with approximately 75 teens participating. Teens hung out with friends while eating pizza, playing video games, swimming and having fun. Upcoming Teen Night’s are Friday and March 20 at the Avon Recreation Center.

“We had such a great time last month,” said Danita Chirichillo, Avon’s special event supervisor. “We are really looking forward to the second Teen Night. We’ve got some great new activities planned that we think will be a lot of fun for teens.”

New this month is the “Teen Night Boutique,” presented by Rack-n-Roll Clothing. Girls can check out fun t-shirts and jeans from the local clothing purveyor. Organizers have also added more video games and controllers.

The fun starts at 6 p.m. and ends at 8:45 p.m. It’s $5 to get in the door and is open to teenagers ages 13 through 15.

“We are so excited to offer something different in the valley for teens,” Chirichillo said. “There’s not much for this age group to do other than hang out at the movie theater or coffee shops.”

The town is expecting 80 to 100 kids for Teen Night. Activities include foosball, dodgeball, Xbox/Wii games including Guitar Hero and Sean White Snowboarding, ping pong competitions, Dance Dance Revolution, pool games and open swim, etc. Each Teen Night will be centered around themes such as teamwork, respect, compassion and integrity.

Pre-registration is requested, however walk-ins are welcome. For more information or to register, contact the Avon Recreation Center at 970-748-4060 or visit http://www.avonrec.org.
