Teen writer’s workshop in Eagle set for Saturday

EAGLE, Colorado “-Local author D.A. (Debbie) Brockett will be conducting a creative writing workshop for teens in 6th-12th grade on Saturday from 1 to 3:30 p.m. at the Eagle Public Library. For those who are interested, Brockett will also be available for critique and evaluation of prepared short stories no longer than two pages.

Brockett, an award-winning author, has extensive experience as a writer, teacher and supporter of budding writers.

“The written word moves the mountain of ignorance, changes the landscape of the heart, and floods the desert of the soul,” Brockett said. “It brings refreshing tides of insight and hope and direction. That is why encouraging people to come out of the closet, so to speak, and write is so important to me.”

Brockett’s novels, “Our Darling” and “Stained Glass Rose,” are available for checkout at all three libraries in the Eagle Valley Library District. This is event is free and open to teens in grades 6 to 12.
