Teens arrested in Eagle-Vail burglary

EAGLE-VAIL, Colorado ” Two teenage boys have been arrested, and a third is “on the run,” in connection to a Jan. 17 burglary at an Eagle-Vail, Colorado cell phone store, the Eagle County Sheriff’s Office said Monday.

The three teens also are being investigated for their involvement in other Eagle County commercial burglaries, the Sheriff’s Office says.

The two 17-year-old boys were arrested Thursday. One of the boys an Edwards resident, was taken to a juvenile detention center in Denver and the other was released to his parents in Beaver Creek. They were both charged on suspicion of felony burglary, theft, and felony criminal mischief.



Deputies are still looking for the third suspect, 19-year-old Ashlin Romero, of Vail, the Sheriff’s Office says.

Romero is wanted for felony burglary, felony theft, felony criminal mischief and felony contributing to the delinquency of a minor for recruiting the two juveniles to be burglars, the Sheriff’s Office says.

He also is wanted felony violation of bond conditions because he is out on bail for domestic violence, and felony theft by receiving for being in possession of items stolen from a home in Beaver Creek that occurred in December, the Sheriff’s Office says.

Romero is believed to be driving a blue Ford Mustang with Florida license plates of U07-2UR.

Some stolen cell phones from the Eagle-Vail store and stolen televisions from the Beaver Creek residence were recovered from the suspect’s residences, the Sheriff’s Office says.

If any of the teens are connected to other crimes, additional criminal charges will be filed, the Sheriff’s Office says.
