Toys for Tots needs you

Christmas in the Eagle River Valley is a difficult time for many families. Please help out by donating a $10 toy, game or appropriate gift for a child or teen. Cash donations are deposited in a Toys for Tots Toy Fund. Local businesses and organizations are encouraged to involve employees by asking for donations at company parties. You can drop off donations at City Market, Safeway, Columbine Market, the Eagle Pharmacy, all local banks, or any emergency service agency. Toys for Tots and the Salvation Army will make certain that deserving youth in the valley will receive your gifts. For details or more information, call the Salvation Army, any emergency service agency, or Toys for Tots chairman, Nick Frenze at 524-7705.

A Crisis of Faith, an American dilemma

This is a film presentation in association with the White River Institute, set for 7 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 13, at the Eagle Library. This is not aligned with any specific religious belief, this film will take us to a deeper level of what it means to be truly human. Spirituality means many things to many people. In “A Crisis of Faith,” theologians and authors address the state of spiritual crisis the West finds itself in. There is a clear danger in the discrepancy between the rate we in the West have grown technologically vs. spiritually. This film looks at this chasm as it attempts to move us out of the intellect and create an experience through the use of powerful imagery and soundtrack as a backdrop for the speakers.
