Texas singer/songwriter performs in Eagle Saturday
VAIL CO, Colorado
EAGLE – You could call her eclectic. You might even call her a renaissance woman. Tonight at the Bowlmor Lounge at the Back Bowl in Eagle, you can also call her the featured artist, as she takes the stage for a free show as part of the Jammin’ at the Bowlmor music series. The show starts at 8 p.m.
Julie Jean White is an artist with talents that cross the spectrum of artistic expression; from poignant and insightful writing to acting on film and television, from songwriting to breathing life and emotion into those songs, White is a consummate artist.
Growing up studying classical piano, White took every opportunity she had to transpose and learn the songs of her favorite artists of that time. With influences as diverse as Carole King and Prince, and early experience as a lounge singer, White developed an appreciation for the standards that helped her develop her own unique style and voice.
With the rich tone and delivery of the torch singers of another era, White draws upon a range seldom heard in today’s pop-centric world.
This quality has been recognized by the music industry more than once; she’s won awards from The Texas Independent Music Expo, American Songwriter Magazine and Billlboard Magazine’s World Songwriting Contest.
