Thanks for everything during state House candidacy

Ali Hasan
Vail, CO, Colorado

To everyone in Lake, Summit and Eagle counties: I just wanted to thank you all for all of your loving words and support during our run for the House District 56 seat.

Standing on street corners and sucking on exhaust fumes may sound like hardship to some, but to me, it was the time of my life! Knocking on 20,000 doors, debating the issues, and running around our entire district was a blast.

Through it all, I made new friends and many of you were always there to give me positive love. Thus, when I first announced my candidacy, I considered myself an Eagle County boy; with our campaign closing, I can now look at myself as a son of Eagle, Lake, and Summit, something that I’m deeply proud of.

My best thoughts are with state Rep. Scanlan and her efforts to represent us. I am sure that she will do well and I’ve told her that she can count on me for help anytime.

As for myself, I plan to pursue some new film projects, do a lot of traveling, and engage in more community service.

Participate in The Longevity Project

The Longevity Project is an annual campaign to help educate readers about what it takes to live a long, fulfilling life in our valley. This year Kevin shares his story of hope and celebration of life with his presentation Cracked, Not Broken as we explore the critical and relevant topic of mental health.

Most importantly, I do plan on staying involved, especially with the Rocky Mountain Rail Authority, in their quest to get a monorail built on the I-70 and I-25 corridors. My e-mail is also attached below, as I would love to stay in touch. So please feel free to write anytime.

In staying engaged, I will run for office again someday, but like most Republicans I have no idea of what that timetable will be.

Lastly, I had the best campaign team in the world and the best campaign manager in Kaye Ferry. Between my team, a loving family, and my loving dog, Deelya, life is awesome! Thank you all for making this run so much fun.

Peace and love to you all!
