The Backcountry Ball at the Vail Golf Club celebrates women in the outdoors
Annual dance party raises money for education programs for Gore Range Gravity Alliance
The Backcountry Ball is coming to Vail Golf Club on Dec. 7 from 7 to 11 p.m. More than just a fundraiser for the Gore Range Gravity Alliance’s educational and social programming, the event is a chance to trade in those trusty hiking boots for something a little snazzier and celebrate the fierce femininity of local women and their amazing outdoor skills.
Tickets are $60 and the event sold out last year so secure your spot by going to GorerangeGravityAlliance.com. Follow the group on Instagram for updates of meetups on the hill.
Everyone 21 years and older is invited to join in the glamorous fun, so grab your date, your pals, your whole crew or come ready to make new friends. Whatever your plan is, just be ready to leave the flannel at home. DJ Red (a.k.a. Wendy Fisher, former Olympic ski racer straight from Crested Butte) will be spinning the tunes that’ll keep everyone grooving all night. Heavy apps and free drinks will be served. Capture the memories at Vail Photo Booths, and take home snapshots.
Prizes will be given away throughout the evening and more opportunities to take home gear and other goodies are available in the silent auction. Any businesses looking to support the cause by donating items can email Amanda@GoreRangeGravityAlliance.com.
The Gore Range Gravity Alliance, a three-year-old nonprofit in both Eagle and Summit Counties, is about empowering women to thrive in the backcountry, with events covering everything from avalanche awareness to gear maintenance. Through community and mentorship, the nonprofit is helping women grow their skills, build friendships, and find adventure buddies for life.
