EDWARDS — The Bookworm of Edwards will be the first in Colorado to host a “Coffee With Mike” author’s event on Sunday at 9 a.m. Mike Ritland, a former U.S. Navy Seal and New York Times Best Seller author of “Trident K9 Warriors” will be at The Bookworm autographing books and sharing his story with local supporters. When locals come to purchase a copy of “Trident K9 Warriors,” a portion of the proceeds will go to Ritland’s no-profit called the Warrior Dog Foundation and The Bookworm will also give away a free coffee tumbler to everyone who purchases a book that day.

Nicole Magistro, co-owner of The Bookworm, felt moved to help support the cause, so she and her team helped organize the event along with the Warrior Dog Foundation team. The Bookworm staffers are also donating their time to help support the foundation by helping out at the Warrior Dog Foundation tent during this weekend’s GoPro Mountain Games. The Warrior Dog Foundation tent will be located directly across from Dock Dogs.

Following the booksigning that morning, Ritland will be conducting captivating scent detection demonstrations with his designated K-9 immediately following the Dock Dogs Big Wave events at the GoPro Mountain Games. The Warrior Dog Foundation team will also be making custom dog tags for fans followed by a special photo opportunity with Ritland and his K-9. Subaru and Ruffwear have teamed up with the Warrior Dog Foundation to make this happen, along with the Vail Valley Foundation.
