The Philinda Gallery Hosts a New and Different Kind of Show

Would you believe that on August 1 through August 4 the Philinda Gallery will be presenting “Wood you Believe: A Creative and Functional Wood and Metal Show”? The exhibit will display works including segmented and carved wood, furniture, metal sculptures, paintings and creative pieces of more than 40 artists. Gallery owner, Linda Waldbaum, claims that the show is something the Vail Valley has never seen before. She says the exhibition will be “fresh, new, daring and something really different” to see and experience.The showcase will feature Colorado based artists such as photographer, Tom Owens and sculptor, Tom Woodward as well as national artists such as woodworker, Johanes Michelsen. The pieces shown will range from functional items such as salad bowls, hat stands and furniture to more creative objects such as turned wood hats and decorative sculptures.The show will be held in and around the Philinda Gallery, located directly across from the Gore Range Brewery in Edwards, Colorado. The show begins on Thursday, August 1 with a “Sneak Preview” running from 6 p.m until dark. The show continues during the daytime on Friday August 2 and Saturday, August 3 from 10 a.m until 8 p.m. The last day of the show will be Monday, August 4 from 11 a.m until 4 p.m.
