The rightful king of Earth has landed
“Didn’t I tell you,” answered Mr. Beaver, “that the witch made it always winter and never Christmas? Didn’t I tell you? Well, just come and see!” “I’ve come at last,” said Father Christmas. “She has kept me out for a long time, but I have got in at last … the magic is weakening.” – “The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe,” C.S. LewisAlways winter and never Christmas – sounds like our culture today, doesn’t it? The attempt to secularize anything Christian finally is beginning to fail. All the nay-sayers who misquote our Constitution and rage against God’s truth find themselves out in the cold. God Almighty has the victory and He pulled off in a way no one expected. Look at these prophecies 700 years before Jesus was even born. Isaiah, the great Jewish prophet looked ahead and saw God putting together a rescue mission:- A virgin would give birth to the Savior of the whole world : “The Lord himself will give you a sign; the virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son and will call him Immanuel … for unto us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be upon his shoulders. He will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace,” Isaiah 7:14, 9:6.- The Son of God would come to set us free:”I the Lord will take your hand. I will keep you and will make you to be a covenant for the people and a light for the Gentiles; to open eyes that are blind; to free captives from prison and to release from the dungeon those who sit in darkness,” Isaiah 42:6-7.- The Christ child: God Almighty visiting Earth:”The Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer; he is called the God of all the earth. With everlasting kindness I will have compassion of you, says the Lord your Redeemer,” Isaiah 54:5, 8.As C. S. Lewis made clear in “Mere Christianity,” we live in “enemy-occupied territory – that’s what this world is. Christianity is the story of how the rightful king has landed.” Please don’t believe you can master your own destiny, or that scientific humanism can save you. Nothing can but the one and only hope – Jesus Christ. “Don’t be afraid. I bring you good news of a great joy that will be for all people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord,” Luke 2:10-11. This Christmas, have the courage to come and see the truth. God’s Son took on flesh to show us the depth of God’s compassion – it’s time to accept that astounding love and rejoice! Even though there’s snow on the ground, the winter of our souls is over and Christmas morning is here! For you and I now have the chance to be truly free, to accomplish the impossible and to live forever. So, in the words of Father Christmas in Narnia: “Merry Christmas! Long live the one true King!”Vail, Colorado
