“We are extremely excited to be hosting this luxury shopping event to help raise funds for Pink Vail,” said Snow Sugar designer Sonya Powell. “Our mission is to bring girls together to encourage one another to strive for the ultimate, while maintaining their true beauty.”

Snow Sugar apparel is sold online at and at select ski shops and boutiques in Colorado, New York, California, France and Australia.

This free fashion event is open to the public and will be held in The Bloom Spa at The Sebastian Vail.

Individuals of all ages and backgrounds who visit Vail Valley will join in this fun celebration of life, skiing and riding as a way of raising funds and awareness for cancer.

Specthrie, the leader of the Double Stuffed Pink Vail team, is a cancer survivor. Double Stuffed has 15 members who are cancer survivors. The team has members from New York, New Jersey, Los Angeles, Aspen and Steamboat Springs. The team name is derived from Specthrie’s dog Oreo, who had cancer last year when they came up with the name. Also, the name is a reference to mastectomies, a common procedure.

Saturday is the first anniversary of Specthrie’s dear friend Jenny Van der Linden’s death from ovarian and breast cancer. She fought cancer for 13 years. The team will ski down Vail Mountain with a banner to commemorate this date and her name. Van der Linden started the I Heart Jenny Foundation ( to bring awareness to cancer. Specthrie has become a mentor to others, providing survival skills to get through surgery as well as emotional, nutritional and alternative therapies.

“Double Stuffed will be hitting the mountain in style to make this fun,” Specthrie said. “The idea is to bring awareness to cancer and paint the mountain pink.”

Double Stuffed will host a fundraiser at Main St. Grill in Edwards tonight from 5 p.m. to close. Fifteen percent of the restaurant’s proceeds benefit Pink Vail. The First Chair Band will perform beginning at 8 p.m. There will be a Snow Sugar fashion show, silent auction and door prizes. Snow Sugar merchandise will be for sale at the event.
