VAIL — The Skating Club of Vail’s annual holiday ice show will take place Sunday and Monday evenings at 6:30 p.m. at Dobson Ice Arena in Vail. This year’s show is “Ice Under the Big Top: A Traveling Circus,” an on-ice extravaganza that will transport the audience to a traveling circus.

Under the direction of Dobson Ice Arena figure skating coach Robyn Sudkamp, this year’s skaters will portray unique circus acts from around the world. The Skating Club of Vail skaters will take spectators on an exciting journey to Bali, China, Rio de Janeiro and Las Vegas. The cast will be in full costume representing Arabian dancers, a snake charmer, tight rope walkers and lion tamers, just to mention a few. A special guest skater will come up from Denver to perform both nights.

“The stage is the ice and with the use of music, props and special effect lighting, we have created a very special show,” said Sudkamp, who choreographed the show. “This year’s production will feature a beautiful array of skating and showcase what our skaters have learned over the past year.”

Sudkamp has traveled all over the world performing for Disney on Ice, Royal Caribbean, New York Ice Theater and a live performance on the “Today” show, according to Skating Club President Marci Leith.

Tickets to these performances can be purchased at the door or online at the club’s website, http://www.skate For more information about ticket sales, contact Alicia Davis with Skating Club of Vail at 970-376-5883.
