The Wailer’s return to Avon Friday

The Wailers were Bob Marley’s backing band and still tour around the world with Aston “Familyman” Barrett, Marley’s original bassist. Together with Marley, the Wailers have sold in excess of 250 million albums worldwide. The band will perform at Agave in Avon Friday night.”Their annual stop in the Vail Valley is one of the highlights of the year, and always sells out,” said Crawford Byers, the show’s promoter. “If you love reggae music, chances are you were weened on Bob Marley & the Wailers catalog. Their hits are familiar across the world, bridging culture gaps and divergent musical tastes.””These are the hits that brought reggae to the mainstream, and the Wailers are still carrying the torch,” Byers continued.The Wailers will be joined by the New Orleans influenced funk, reggae, and world music of Billy Franklin’s NOLA Live.
