Vail Farmers Market and Art Show

The largest farmers market in Eagle County is the Vail Farmers Market and Art Show, which kicks off this Sunday and runs every Sunday until Oct. 5. With over 100 vendors there’s a lot to check out, including just going there to grab a bite to eat since there are 40 food vendors. The market runs from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. throughout Vail Village, predominantly on East Meadow Drive and along the International Bridge. For more details go to VailFarmersMarket.com. Please note that the town of Vail is now charging for summer parking with one hour free and then it will cost $2 per hour, with a maximum of $10 per day.

Edwards Farmers Market

The farmers market in Edwards is back again this summer but in a new location. Look for many of the same vendors from years past in the lower level of the Edwards Plaza Parking lot, in between the buildings that house Fiesta’s and Marko’s Pizza and Alpine Bank and Ed’z Restaurant. The market will be held on Saturdays from now until Sept. 20 from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. A list of vendors can be found on the Edwards Farmers Market Instagram page. Fresh produce, coffee, sweets, meats, fish, soaps, bakery treats, hand crafted wares and more will be in Edwards each Saturday.

In addition to the regular line up of singers performing at area bars and restaurants (look for your favorite performer’s schedule in the Vail Daily Events Calendar in print and online), here’s a look at some special shows going on around the valley.

Trevor Hall at The Amp

The Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater hosts Trevor Hall on Saturday. Hall is crisscrossing the country with his Monsoon Nights Tour that shares Hall’s deep love of India and he has invited Indian musicians to join him on stage. Expect to hear tunes from his most recent album, “Trevor Hall and the Great In-Between” on Saturday. Hall said in a recent Instagram post that this tour is a “love letter to India and it’s people, the music, the culture and everything that it’s done for my life.”

Opening up for Hall will be the indie-folk rock act Fruit Bats. Gates open at 6 p.m. and the music starts at 7 p.m. Ticket options include reserved seating under the pavilion and general admission lawn seating. For more information, go to GRFAVail.com.

Hazel Miller plays the Colorado Showcase at Beaver Creek

Saturday kicks off the first of a series of concerts on Saturday afternoons in Beaver Creek called the Colorado Showcase. Beaver Creek welcomes amazing bands from across the state and around the valley every Saturday between June 14 and Sept. 13. This week’s musical act is Hazel Miller & The Collective.

The Colorado Showcase is a free event, and the concert goes from 5-6:30 p.m., so it’s a perfect way to cap off your day or get your evening started. Head to the plaza level of Beaver Creek, where they turn the ice rink into a big yard with lawn games, and tables and chairs. There’s an outdoor bar where you can grab a drink (no outside alcohol is permitted). Pack a picnic or stop at the area restaurants and take an order to-go and bring it out to the venue. For more information, go to BeaverCreek.com.

Swinging with the Fabulous Femmes at Route 6 Café

The Fabulous Femmes are a wonderful local trio featuring the talented voices of Beth Swearingen, Kathy Morrow and Charis Patterson. They don’t play many local concerts that are open to the public, so when they do, be ready to kick up your heels and go see them. This Sunday at Route 6 Café the Femmes will be singing all of your big band favorites. Tickets are $20 and that includes a drink ticket and a dance lesson from Swearingen and Morrow. Dance lessons start at 6 p.m. and the performance begins at 7 p.m. Come in your favorite 1940s attire to follow the swing music era theme. Show your creativity and you could go home with a prize as there will be a costume contest. View more information on The Fabulous Femmes Instagram page.

Western Dance Night with the Walker Williams Band at 4 Eagle Ranch

Learn to line dance or sharpen your skills with line dance instruction at 4 Eagle Ranch on Friday. The instruction goes from 6-7 p.m. and the high energy Walker Williams Band will play from 7-10 p.m. While you’re there you can grab a bite to eat and a drink. Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for those under 15 years of age. You can buy your tickets at the door. Learn more at 4EagleRanch.com.
