Three candidates so far for Vail Town Council election

VAIL — Three candidates so far — Doe Browning, Mark Christie and incumbent Ludwig Kurz — are certified to run in the Nov. 3 town council election. The election will be held at town hall and is not part of Eagle County’s mail-in election. Candidates have until Oct. 2 to return nominating petitions to the town’s clerk’s office.

Two current council members — Margaret Rogers and Mayor Andy Daly — are term-limited and cannot run in this election. That means the council will have at least two new members. Kurz can serve another term, as can fellow incumbent Dale Bugby.

Residents who won’t be in town Nov. 3 can cast absentee ballots. A request for an absentee ballot must be made to the town clerk’s office or on the town’s website. The deadline to request an absentee ballot is Oct. 30. Absentee voting will begin Oct. 22 at town hall. All absentee ballots must be returned by 7 p.m. Nov. 3.
