Idiot for an editor

No apologies, here, Don Rogers, but you’re an idiot. I couldn’t even finish reading your column (Monday). I’m sure if the tables were turned on you, and you were innocent, you sure wouldn’t want any editors writing about you, what you wrote about Kobe – what Kobe has done to Eagle County? What has … done? Come on. You couldn’t be any more one-sided. Did you know that the Constitution says that you’re innocent until proven guilty? Lucky for you that you live in this country and not Cuba or Iraq. Get yourself an education because you’re a lousy editor.

Hoping swap stops

I was happy to read in your Oct. 19 paper about the snags in the Vassar Meadows-Avon land swap. It’s a swap that should not happen and is driven by personal interests, using open space as a smokescreen. Vail Resorts wants 300 unneeded employee housing units on what is now open space in Avon, and Cindy Cohagen, with the Land Trust, wants to be sure her back yard in Vassar Meadows is not developed. Stop kidding Eagle County people with the Land Conversation Trust.

Don’t see justice either

Participate in The Longevity Project

The Longevity Project is an annual campaign to help educate readers about what it takes to live a long, fulfilling life in our valley. This year Kevin shares his story of hope and celebration of life with his presentation Cracked, Not Broken as we explore the critical and relevant topic of mental health.

I just wanted to comment on the “No justice here’ Tipsline on Oct. 19. I could not agree more with the caller. I have lived in this valley for over 10 years, and I have seen Eagle County courts allow thieves, abusers, rapists, even murderers, get away with their horrific crimes. I love living in this valley, but I really have to question where’s the justice. Most of these people will commit their violent crimes again. Eagle County judges might as well be cheering them on from the sidelines, because they do nothing to stop their crimes.

Um, it’s not the format

I see Jim Dorsey finally got the message that his letters were more appropriate to be written as a guest column. Good job there. Now if we could just get Terry Quinn to do the same – of course, that would mean people would actually read what he has to say.

Narrower on purpose

Years ago when I lived in Vail I remember the Bair Ranch bridge, and nobody has ever brought up the fact that it is 12 inches narrower on purpose through CDOT because they wanted to keep it an undeveloped parcel, and it has not made any notice yet in the paper. Somebody want to look into that?

Everyone votes

Registered voters in Eagle County should be aware that we all can vote on the Eagle seat for Eagle County School District board. That seat is the only race with more than one candidate, so do your homework, and cast an educated vote, and make sure you’re at the polls on Nov. 4.
