Town of Vail Public Library recognized
Vail, CO Colorado
VAIL, Colorado – The Vail Public Library has been recognized as one of America’s Star Libraries by the Library Journal Index of Public Library Service for 2011. The Vail Library is one of only nine libraries given this distinction in the state, and one of only 262 public libraries nationwide. It was also recognized in 2009.
The Library Journal Index of Public Library Service is a public library national rating system that gives an indication of a library’s service in comparison to other libraries of similar size. Libraries are put into comparison groups based on their operating expenditures and are evaluated on four areas relative to the performance of other libraries in their comparison groups. The four areas include the number of library visits, circulation, number of people attending programs and public Internet computer use.
The Town of Vail Public Library is open daily to the public Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
