Summer’s Ending, Get a Move OnHello and welcome to the place with the stuff. You know what we’re talking about, right? This is the place where you come to get a respite from all the really important stuff you’re hearing about in other places like the other sections of this newspaper, the Olympics wrap-up shows, the political-wonks-yelling-at-each-other shows, those movie channels that only show stuff in black and white and all those Spanish-language sports channels that you apparently pay for with your cable bill but never watch because you either don’t speak Spanish, don’t watch sports or both.Where were we? Millions of Town Talk readers: Dunno. You already lost us.Well, we’re pretty sure we were just about to remind you that summer is almost over, that snow is just around the corner (don’t forget last week’s peak-dusting harbinger!) and that you should really get off your butt and go do something outside.MTTR: We ARE outside we’re biking up a mountain as we read this.Whatever. In addition to all those athletic pursuits, you should also get out and check out things like the Edwards Farmers’ Market today from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.; the Vail Farmers’ Market & Art Show from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sunday; the Red Cliff Studio Tour Saturday and Sunday; the Beaver Creek Vertical Assault today (which sounds really hard); the Eagle Valley Community Fund Auction & Rummage Sale all weekend; the Minturn Farmers’ Market today from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.; and all kinds of other stuff. Then go for a run, have a beer and call it a day. Is that so much to ask?We didn’t think so.Ciao.
Todays the day for the Battle Mountain reunion for students of the Maloit Park years! Come to Maloit Park from 1 to 4 p.m. today and catch up with old classmates. Bring something to eat and something to drink. Drag an old classmate along with you. See you there!
