Millennium Bank sure made a splash Saturday with a black day gala hearkening back to the Great Gatsby.
Who knew so many of the valley’s original ski bums and blue jeans moguls could clean up so well. More than one wife was overheard mentioning how fun it was to dress up in flapper garb, too. The bank wanted to get its Diamond Service Guarantee initiative off to a bright start, and the gala was a big part of that. One of FedEx’s founders, Mike Basch, offered some wise advise about service, and the bank gave away a 1-karat diamond and announced it would make contributions to the Shaw Cancer Center, Gore Range Natural Science School and the Salvation Army. But the main event was the dancing, and the 250 or so guests took to that with abandon. Even the “regular” press dressed up for the event.
