Town Talk

Happy 50th birthday to Jeff Snyder. Sorry you had to spend a chunk of your birthday driving back from Amarillo. We can go to the "Big Texan" some other time. We love you — Pam, Cedge, Maxi, Mom, Kaye, Becky and the rest of the family.

The holiday season proves year after year to be the toughest time for our soldiers. With some of them seemingly forgotten during the holidays, we hear of depression and many suicides, with no letters, cards or gifts received.

This year, let’s not forget them. Come to Dewey’s Dabbles in Eagle (next to Pazzo’s) from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. today to remember our soldiers and send them a gift of thought and caring. We’ll be making nondenominational holiday decorations, also known as “God’s eye ornaments,” and pottery items. There is a 25 percent discount on pottery items made for the soldiers. Feel free to bring extra yarn, sticks or any other holiday ideas and join in the fun! If you’d like to bring items for care packages, here are some great suggestions: single-serving drink mixes, granola, protein and energy bars, small packages of candy, cookies and gum, DVDs and CDs and holiday cards for soldiers to send home.

For more information or questions, please contact Mary Witt at 970-331-5502 or Jennifer at Dewey’s Dabbles at 970-328-7687.
