A memorial service for Gene Perle will be held at 12:30 p.m., Saturday, July 10, on the deck at Eagles Nest. This past September Gene passed away from a heart attack. Since 1969 Vail was Gene’s second home. It all started with a family drive westward on old US 6 bound for Snowmass. A stop on the way in Vail and the drive went no further. Since then he spent as much of his time as possible in Vail and enjoying the community and the access to the outdoors that the town provided. He watched it grow and change over the years building very strong bonds with those who made Vail. He was an energetic and tireless president of the Riva Ridge Condo Association for many years and will be sorely missed. Friends are invited to join in celebrating Gene’s life and sharing rememberances as we see him rest peacefully in a place he loved so much. Following the ceremony, all are welcome to gather at the home of Rich and Ts u Brown, 0742 Stone Creek Drive, Eagle-Vail to share in some food and refreshments.
In terms of area, it’s the county’s smallest conservation deal ever. In terms of location, it’s one of the county’s rarest acquisitions.
