Mrs. Interim Titan of Town Talk Towers was at the Thrifty Shoppe in Eagle the other day, and noticed the inventory was a bit low.

“It’s been like this for the last month,” the clerk told Mrs. ITTTT.

Could it be the donation of jackets, shoes, lamps and other stuff is suffering because everything is going to the victims of the tsunami in Asia? We sure hope not.

The boss mentioned it last week but it’s worth mentioning again:

There are millions and millions of people giving money to the relief effort in Asia. We just have us to take care of people in need in Happy Valley.

Vail Valley Cares, which runs the Thrifty Shoppes in Edwards and Eagle, lends a helping hand to untold hundreds of people every year. So does the local Salvation Army.

Wouldn’t it be nice if we could have a few tsunami aid-type events every year to help out our neighbors?

The answer, by the way, is, yes.

To help Vail Valley Cares or the Salvation Army, call 926-4444. They’d love to hear from you.
