Special to the DailyThe Stephens family " Nina, Ariel and McKinley spent two weeks in Alaska this summer, where it was cool! We read the Vail Daily, of course.

Carrie Zovluck, the valley’s very own “Ice Cream Lady,” sent the following:

Those of you who attend the Minturn Market on Saturdays may be wondering “Where is The Icecream Lady?”

Well, after having been in the same location at the market for three years I was unceremoniously moved and in my opinion treated rather badly. Without going into detail I was given the ultimatum of “If you don’t like it you can leave”

Well, I didn’t like it, so I left!

It’s only ice cream and who really cares? Well, I care. I care about the kids who miss the Ice Cream Lady. I care about the people who expect to see me there. I care about the fact I had to say goodbye due to the way I was treated.

Participate in The Longevity Project

The Longevity Project is an annual campaign to help educate readers about what it takes to live a long, fulfilling life in our valley. This year Kevin shares his story of hope and celebration of life with his presentation Cracked, Not Broken as we explore the critical and relevant topic of mental health.

The good news is this frees me up on Saturday mornings to be on the road and attend parties and games and other events. So please think of me when planning your Saturday parties and give me a call I would love to surprise your child with a visit. Call 470-2691 or 949-4868 or e-mail me at

I feel genuinely grateful to know so many awesome people support my business. I hope to see as many of you as possible before the winter is here.

Peace and popsicles,

Carrie Zovluck
