Town Talk

Brian 'Bubba' Dalrymple is leaving town for a few years. He doesn't know where he's going just yet, but he does know he's having a farewell barbecue at Bighorn Park in East Vail from noon until sunset on Aug. 21. There will be burgers and hot dogs, but feel free to bring anything you'd like ... like your family (kids), dogs, etc.

Happy birthday, Bubba! Twenty-nine again, eh? You’re not getting older sweetheart, you’re just getting a little closer to perfection. Together forever, forever together. Loving you with all my heart. Cam.

Congratulations to Dak Steiert, recently named to the national dean’s list for 2005! The faculty members and professors of Stanford University nominated Dak, 19, who just finished his sophomore year at Stanford, where he is studying aeronautical engineering and has already completed two graduate-level courses in his major. He is a member of the Stanford ski team and of Sigma Nu fraternity. Dak is the son of John and Connie Steiert of Edwards.

It’s here! Doors open at 6:45 a.m. today for the Eagle Valley Community Fu8nd Auction and Rummage Sale in Maloit Park. Byron Brown wants parents to know there are dozens of kids’-shaped skis on sale at bargain prices. Live auction begins at 8 a.m. Sale continues Sunday from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Questions? Call 926-0597 or 827-9426.

Happy sixth birthday, Vanessa. Love all your friends and family.

Happy first birthday, Kiara Forsberg! We love you more than you’ll ever know. Mom, Dad, sissy and brother.
