Daily Staff Report
Service for Barbara Treat has been moved. Responding to the number of people who want to to attend the memorial service for Barbara Treat, organizers have moved the Friday service from the Beaver Creek Chapel to the Vilar Center for the Arts. The service is scheduled for 1 p.m., with a reception following, also at the Vilar Center. The service is being hosted by the many nonprofit organizations Treat supported. Vail Resorts has reserved the Elk Lot for memorial service parking, with special buses running to the Vilar Center, beginning at noon. Treat passed away Jan. 7 following a six-month battle with stomach cancer. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the newly-created Barbara Treat Foundation to benefit children throughout the Vail Valley. Contributions should be made to the Barbara Treat Foundation, which will be administered through the Vail Valley Foundation.
