Town Talk

Thank you to Nial Oconnor of the Vail Marriott for donating his five lift tickets to Grandpa Bob Miegel (going into his 80th year)! We can't wait to cheer Grandpa Bob on this week as he hits the slopes!

Lost purseWe received this message from a worried reader:”On Sunday, I left my purse outside in a shopping cart at City Market in Avon. Someone found it in the cart and did not turn it in. You can have the cash; all the credit cards and checks have been canceled, and I had receipts for the gift cards, so if you try to use the gift cards you will be arrested on the spot. There was also a baggie of money that belonged to my son who saved this money to buy something special. Shame on you for not turning it in. I would like my purse and keys back, so if you have a heart, please return them to City Market in Avon or call me at 390-8626; no questions asked. Remember – what goes around comes around.”Looking for seniorsWe need photos of your high school senior and their 12th-grade friends. Help us make this year’s Senior Section better than ever with tons of photographs of the class of 2006! Current pictures, baby pictures, photos from fourth-grade, eighth-grade – any photos will do.

Please e-mail photos to, or bring them by the Vail Daily office in Eagle-Vail. We are looking for fun and unusual images. We need you to give us the correct spelling of every person in the photo and perhaps a little information about where and when the photo was taken. Photo prints brought to the Vail Daily will be scanned and returned while you wait. Contact Wren Wertin with questions at 949-0555, ext. 14122, or……
