Town TalkHot, hot, hot!Eagle resident Eric Pence of Slifer Designs recently completed the Badwater Ultramarathon. The 135-mile run from Death Valley to the base of Mount Whitney took Eric 41 hours, 37 minutes, good for a 20th place finish. Temperatures on the run reached almost 130 degrees in Death Valley. Eric then reached the “unofficial finish” at the summit of Mount Whitney, another 22 mile climb, with his crew that included Jim Dawkins of Slifer Designs, adventure racer former Badwater finisher and brother-in-law Mark Macy, and professional triathlete Bret Sublett. Eric and his hot-running posse send thanks to the Avon rec center sauna! .
